On behalf of the Australian Geoscience Council I am writing to thank you for your contribution as President of the AGC over the last several years. We very much appreciate your work in advancing the Council, and I for one have been particularly impressed by the Position Statements you produced. These have been very well thought through and have enabled us to build a solid policy framework for our programs.

As you are aware the situation for the Geosciences in Australia is somewhat uncertain and we as a Council must continue to argue our causes. I hope we will continue to be able to use your good counsel on many issues.
